Time Limits on Personal Injury Lawsuits

By June 19, 2017January 25th, 2024No Comments

Time limits on personal injury lawsuits or statute of limitations vary in different states. In Texas and New Mexico there is a 2 year limit from when the accident happened. This means that you have 2, or 3 depending on the state, years to file a lawsuit. If the statute is passed the court will mostly likely refuse to hear your case. Therefore it is very important to seek help as soon as possible because some cases have been know to run long.
